Schwarze Ribisel

Black Currant

Our blackcurrant fruit brandy is a composition of three traditional and precious varieties originating from Tyrol.

Today, however, the best conditions for growing these blackcurrants can be found in the southern regions of Styria (Austria), which is why we have carefully relocated our bushes there over the years. The aromatic blackcurrants have a bittersweet flavor and ripen in early July.

Once harvested, the berries are selected by hand and mashed on-site within a few hours. We need up to 30kg (65 pounds) of flawless fruit for every liter of this precious brandy. Over time the young distillate matures into a fruity and complex fruit brandy bursting with blackcurrant flavors.
